Brooklyn Rider
The 4 Elements
‘The future of chamber music.’
Brooklyn Rider are one of the great quartets of the world, drawing rave reviews from classical, world and rock critics alike for their eclectic repertoire and gripping performances. They have been credited by NPR with reenergising the 300-year-old form of the string quartet into a vital and creative ensemble for a 21st-century audience.
In The 4 Elements Brooklyn Rider perform a musical call to action on the future of our planet, celebrating Earth’s wondrous mysteries while highlighting the destructive forces of climate change. New works by Akshaya Avril Tucker and Andreia Pinto Correia are paired with four masterpieces summoning the elements of fire, water, earth and air, including Golijov’s Tenebrae and Shostakovich’s 8th Quartet. This is an evening of extraordinary fine music.
