Our Creative Projects are the perfect way for young people to get involved in the Festival as artists, enthusiasts, curators and thinkers. Work with the best artists and creators from around the world to build skills through meaningful collaborations.

Are you a young writer or visual artist? Use our activity kits to create a piece of Flash Fiction or Video Art in response to our 2024 theme ‘Ngaangk’ and you can have your work featured in our 2024 Festival.

Calling all musical women, non-binary and trans folk. So you know how to play your instrument, but how comfortable are you with the technical side of music production? Apply to this music-tech learning experience from Perth Festival and WA Music and under the guidance of PROJECT BEXX, immerse yourself in DIs, foldback settings, musicians and music during Perth Festival.

PRODUCING BASICS

Perth Festival has run the Producer Forum for several years; a chance for producers and self-producing artists to gather with national and international arts workers and discuss how works ended up here. But what if you’re just starting out? Producing Basics is a full-day immersion for those at the very beginning of an arts-administration journey.

Our future leaders are a vital voice in our sector, and Perth Festival wants to make sure we hear them. Our Young Voices cohort are ten exciting artists & arts workers nominated by arts organisations across Perth, accessing performances and behind-the-scenes conversations and helping shape their state Festival.

TELLING STORIES WITH STEVE RODGERS

Young people interested in acting, writing, or even better both, can come along to this free half-day workshop with The Pool playwright Steve Rodgers. Learn how to mine stories and turn them into works of fiction, using both writing and acting techniques.
