Head of People and Culture

We are looking for a Head of People and Culture to join the Perth Festival team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a new, senior role that reports to the Executive Director and is a key member of the Festival’s Senior Leadership team. The Head of People and Culture will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic and operational aspects of human resourcing, ensuring that our organisation attracts, develops, and retains the best talent.

Key responsibilities and position description

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated people strategy that supports the Festival’s artistic, strategic and operational goals.
    Actively shape and promote an organisational culture that supports the Festival’s values and mission
  • Collaborate with senior management to integrate HR strategies for organisational development and growth.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to ensure they are efficient, equitable, and aligned with our strategic needs.
  • Set the standard of a positive health and safety culture by implementing the Perth Festival safety management system and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Extensive HR leadership experience, preferably in the arts, non-profit, or related sector.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, Workplace Health and Safety, compensation, organisational planning, employee relations, and training and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to development and implement HR strategies that align with organisational goals.
