Djoondal

A spectacular free event for the whole family.

Technology meets ancient Noongar stories in Djoondal. Over three nights audiences of all ages are invited to enjoy this immersive show that links the stories of the cosmos and the beauty of the lake and its natural surrounds.

You'll be blown away by lights, lasers and drones accompanied by ancient and futuristic music.

Michaela Gleave's 'Between Us'

Contribute to a collaborative poem beamed into the night sky as morse code light signals.

Over the Festival’s closing four nights, multiple beams of light will pulse up into the night sky in a powerful and evocative expression of community. And we want you to be part of it!

You’re invited to respond to the prompt 'Between us' by filling out the form on the event page. You can also select the date you want your message to appear.

You can then go and see your message beamed into the sky from the Perth Cultural Centre.

Art Exhibitions to Explore

Our entire Visual Arts program is FREE 

This rich program has so much to experience for all ages at a variety of galleries across Perth metro area. Our 2023 program offers a series of exhibitions ranging from video works, immersive installations, paintings, sculpture and so much more.  

A few highlights are Jason Phu, Black Sky, Jacobus Capone and Rosa Barba.

Perth Moves

A free program of dance performances and classes that you can join in on!

STRUT Dance is taking over the State Theatre Centre Courtyard and turning it into a hub of dance activity.

Perth Moves (pictured in banner) is a free dance space for everyone. Experience some of Australia’s and New Zealand's finest dance artists performing 10 Duets on a Theme of Rescue. This performance happens twice a night. 

You can also take to the dance floor yourself in contemporary dance classes, late-night salsa or even a dance battle.

Songs for Freedom

A community celebration to fill the night sky with songs of hope, peace, freedom and Country.

Songs for Freedom brings the beauty of the Pilbara to the stage in an outdoor concert featuring music and image at Dyoondalup (Point Walter).

Bring a picnic and settle in for an evening of wonderful music.

Writers Weekend & Family Day in Freo

Spend the weekend with top authors in the stunning grounds at Fremantle Arts Centre.

Writers Weekend is always the most fun! Filled with unforgettable conversations and storytelling this weekend is accessible to all with our Pay What You Can pricing structure. You can pay as little or as much as you want from $0 to attend any session.
