Here's what our participants from 2020 had to say:
'Involvement in the programme has spurred students on to pursue an Arts career - something many of them felt was not possible for them. Thank you so much for inspiring our students.'
Kate, Head of Arts / Specialist Drama Teacher, Swan View Senior High School
'The Perth Festival School Partnership Program provided fantastic opportunities for students from low socio-economic areas and disadvantaged backgrounds in our school area to experience the arts and learn more about culture.
The learning they gained from these experiences really added to their ability to interpret literature and to think more deeply about the topics portrayed.
'By far, in my experience this was the most engaged I have seen them in any educational activity and I now whole-heartedly believe that access to the arts and these types of experiences are well needed tools to engage high school students in education.'
Fiona, Girls Academy, Girrawheen Senior High School
'Perth Festival gave the Edmund Rice Leaders an experience of a lifetime, providing some support to them to attend some of the programs in this year’s festival, it was just exciting to see them happy, a great collaboration, thank you.'
Bellamore, Leadership and Creative Arts/ Sports, Edmund Rice Centre WA
‘We were grateful for the support of the Festival to go out of their way to provide a safe space for LGBTIQA+ young people. The session was incredibly valuable to our members and is something that’s rarely provided for at no cost. It shows a commitment to the values of diversity and inclusion.’
