What better way to celebrate attending one of our fantastic shows than by sipping on a cheeky G&T prior?

The real question is, what does Perth Festival taste like...

We caught up with the creators of our one-of-a-kind Perth Festival 2020 tailored gin to find out how this treat came to be!

So, what inspired the Perth Festival 2020 tailored gin?

To celebrate our new spirits partnership with Archie Rose Distilling Co., we have crafted a unique tailored gin that represents the people and place of Perth Festival 2020.

When we began the creative process, Perth Festival worked with the Archie Rose distilling team to discuss the flavour profiles and botanicals that best represent the Festival. We landed on a bright citrus profile that would be beautifully balanced in a G&T. Since nearly 70% of gin is consumed in a G&T, it was essential to craft a gin that would compliment this infamous signature serve and could be enjoyed on a hot summer's day in Perth!

How did you decide on the #perthfest flavour?

Perth Festival worked closely with Archie Rose Master Distiller, Dave Withers to select botanicals that were unique to WA. Our Perth Festival Tailored Gin features four pronounced botanicals including blood lime, Geraldton Waxflower and finger lime (all local to WA) with an added citrus burst of Valencia orange peel.

How does it all come to be?

We first work on the gin’s prominent botanical profile and any key considerations for the botanicals chosen (in the case of Perth Festival, a connection to WA was a consideration for the botanicals chosen as part of the brief).

Once the botanical selection is complete, the Archie Rose distilling team begins the distillation process by uniquely distilling every botanical individually, we’re able to capture every distinct flavour, and we do it all in our one-of-a-kind handmade gin still.

To top it all off, we work with the relevant partners to add personalised messaging on the front and slide label of their tailored spirit creation.

How did Perth Festival get so lucky?

We’re thrilled to be the official spirits partner to Perth Festival 2020 and create a Tailored Gin to represent the people and place of this wonderful festival. We look forward to sharing our Tailored Gin, bespoke cocktails and signature serves this Perth Festival.
