'The elusive Holy Grail for most musicians is the quest to be in a band with genuine chemistry where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and that’s what The Kill Devil Hills are, that most illusive and wondrous thing, a band with genuine chemistry.'

Whiskey & Boots
Whiskey & Boots are a Perth based performance company housing the work of actor, producer Georgia King and actor, director and musician Mark Storen. The pair make Headphone Verbatim Performance work that examines the challenges and contradictions of the human condition.

Using storytelling with music they take real stories gathered from a community and share them publicly, illuminating moments that are familiar, exposing common challenges and secret fears, reminding audiences that we are all complex, ugly, beautiful, brave, funny, flawed and vulnerable.

Their work is low-fi, stripped back and welcoming – the fourth wall doesn’t exist. Through the sharing of honest moments in intimate spaces we can try to understand each other better, boldly, honestly, playfully.

Whiskey & Boots are the proud recipients of The CircuitWest 2022 Pinnacle Award for Western Australian Producer of The Year and congratulate Georgia King for winning the PAWA Award for Outstanding Performer In a Leading Role for Mama Stitch-Mandurah.

The Kill Devil Hills
The Kill Devil Hills formed in sun-bleached Perth, Western Australia, in 2003 as a quiet acoustic folk project, quickly swelling ranks like a looming tide, until 20 years, several children and a few divorces later it has settled down (sort of) as five-piece purveyor of tuneful rock / folk / post-rock cacophony, beautiful bastard noise, ugly but honest ballads, and gene-spliced sonic travesties ... in other words, a rock band with a heart of mud and coal.

Seven albums later, the band has toured extensively in that time: Australia of course, but also to North America and several tours to Europe. An entrancing, visceral, emotive, sensual and usually very loud live act, this is one of those special Australian mutant bands that only remote continents can cough up, a species confined to islands, fever-dreams, and occasionally to strut the stage a while.

The multi WAMi-award winning band have toured Australia and beyond, playing major festivals such as Big Day Out, West Coast Blues ‘n’ Roots and most recently Binic Folk & Blues Festival (FRA), venues of all sizes, with bands of all ranges, from the Beasts of Bourbon, The Black Keys, Mountain Goats, Dirty Three, The Drones, through to Jolie Holland and Justin Townes Earle.
