Perth Festival creates experiences for, with and alongside children and young people. From performances, films and free activities for families to creative opportunities where young people can make, perform, contribute and lead, there are lots of ways to get involved.
Whether you're a child, a young creative, a parent, carer or educator, this is where you'll find what's on and how to take part. More details will be announced soon.

Powerhouse
Small acts, big sounds. Perth Festival is inviting emerging Western Australian musicians and bands to apply for Powerhouse, a night of original music at Casa Musica, East Perth Power Station, on Saturday 13 February 2027.
Successful artists will perform a 30-minute live set and have opportunities to connect with industry professionals. The application also offers complimentary entry to the Main Stage on the same evening.
Applications close: Monday 26 October 2026.
Perth Festival & PAV Projection Artwork Call Out
Perth Festival and Perth Audio Visual (PAV) invite young creatives to submit digital artwork for consideration for projection at the East Perth Power Station during Perth Festival 2027.
Selected applicants will be mentored by PAV as they refine and map their artwork for the venue. Before applying, read the creative brief, eligibility criteria and technical requirements and prepare your artwork for upload or provide a link to it.
Children’s Assembly 2027
Perth Festival is planning something very special for our 2027 Festival: an Assembly run by children.
We’re looking for a group of children aged 9–12 with big ideas, lots of questions, and something to say about the world.
What do you think the future should look like? Are we doing a good job of looking after the world for the children of tomorrow? What would you change if you were in charge? And are there things that children understand that adults don’t?
