Acknowledging that many students miss out on effective arts education due to inequity of access and inadequate resourcing, the Partner Schools program provides students with opportunities to watch connect with and learn from the world’s leading visionary artists. Our Partner Schools for 2020 are Dianella Secondary College, Gilmore College, Swan View Senior High School, Balga Senior High School, Girrawheen Senior High School and Edmund Rice Centre WA.
Featuring tailored opportunities for learning across the arts, the Partner Schools program provides carefully designed, rich and accessible programs to students who would not otherwise be able to access the Perth Festival. The program includes tickets to performances, alongside workshops, artist talks, and masterclasses all offered free of charge to students. Students will have direct contact with Perth Festival artists, making space for discussion, collaboration, conversation and learning with international, national and local performers and practitioners. Students participate in activities designed to challenge and extend learning, building agency, self-efficacy and critical thinking.
Alongside student engagement, online resources and professional learning programs build educators skills in the development and delivery of ongoing quality arts education in their schools.
