We invite students to experiment, express themselves and get excited by an Education and Creative Learning Program that mixes the playful with the profound and the purposeful. With the support of the Education Department and Fogarty Foundation, we create a curriculum-linked and outcomes-based program of discounted performances, free workshops, masterclasses, mentorships and hands-on activities that have learning at their heart.
Perth Festival collaborates with local, national and international artists in an Education Program that is innovative, exciting and unique. Our programs embed the arts across all areas of the Western Australian curriculum, ensuring the curriculum engages and has relevance for all students.

Perth Festival’s Creative Learning program creates opportunities for students to work with the best artists and creators from around the world, building skills through meaningful collaborations. From Curated by Kids at Perth Writers Week to Who Run the World, a development program for young, female-identifying musicians, we place young people at the heart of the Festival.
Join educator, performer and producer Libby Klysz for an innovative Professional Learning program that unpicks the processes behind some of Perth Festival’s most spectacular shows.
Words and stories will fill Perth Cultural Centre for Writers Week Schools Day. Join local, national and international writers for an array of workshops, intimate encounters and in-depth discussions examining the world in which we live. From big names to terrific emerging talents, primary and secondary students will have the unique opportunity to meet authors, illustrators, and storytellers of all forms, tackle big questions and consider big answers.
Students attending a performance can also participate in free workshops. These outcomes-based programs deepen student learning across the curriculum and facilitate collaboration with artists and practitioners.
