The Cabinet of Curiosities | Pub Rock and Bon Scott  
AH Bracks Library, 29 Jan – 6 Mar 

Melville Museums and Local History are proud to present Pub Rock and Bon Scott, a display that showcases AC/DC memorabilia and looks at the significance of the rise of pub culture in Perth, including local legendary watering holes, such as The Raffles Hotel. 

High Voltage Hill (aka Wireless Hill)

Highway to Hell Pre-Party
Fremantle Arts Centre, 2pm - 4pm

Featuring The Little Lord St Band and a special appearance by the WA Police Pipe Band. 

Wide Open Road
Nyisztor Studio, 28 Feb – 8 Mar

The exhibition will be open to the public on Sunday March 1 from 10.00am to 8.00pm to coincide with Highway to Hell. Wide open Road will feature 20 of Perth’s significant artists, including Susannah Castledine, Bevan Honey, Merrick Belyea, Helen Smith, Minnaxi May, Trevor Richards, and Wade Taylor to name a few.

Dreams Exhibition
Atwell Art Centre & Gallery

Focusing on the Great Australian Dream aspect of AC/DC looking at the connection of music to art and the notion that from ordinary comes greatness. Runs from 17 February to 8 March and will be open on the day.

CANNING BRIDGE ZONE

Clancy’s Fish Pub
Clancy’s Fish Canning Bridge will operate a pop-up street bar adjacent to the pub with a programme of music, games, food, beverages that would make Bon proud. Open from 11am. Let there be rock (cod)!

The Raffles Hotel
They are expanding onto the street with a massive outdoor stage and a line-up of local and interstate acts from 12.00pm to midnight. Get the party started during the day with Dave Warner and local artist Dan Howls plus more. Raffles’ very own market hub will be hosting workshops and activities for kids as well as a vinyl record stall, AC/DC merchandise and a unique photo and video exhibition of the legendary Bon Scott and AC/DC.

Peddle Perth
Jump on a Peddle, request your favourite AC/DC song and rock out with the wind in your hair as you cruise past those on foot, and then pay the rider what you think the ride was worth! Stationed between the Canning Bridge Zone and Tompkins Park.

Vinnies Applecross – Rockin’ Pop-Up Shop!
Check out Vinnie's Applecross rock, retro and alternative pre-loved clothing, shoes, accessories, vinyl, CDs and other gems for sale in their carpark pop up, plus their shop full of their usual treasures from 3pm to 7:30pm. A "Buy now Collect later" service is available if you don't want to carry around your thrifty finds at the festival! All funds raised go to their St Vincent De Paul's Emergency Relief services helping West Australians in need.                                               

TOMPKINS PARK ZONE

Melville Bowling Club 
Call in for a cold drop, if you want to Rock ‘n’ Bowl! with full bar facilities, soft drinks, water, sausage sizzle, hot chips, and Barefoot Bowls

Flying Trapeze Perth
Right next to Tompkins Park. For people aged 6 to 106 years on the trapeze and 15 months and up on the bungee-trampoline.

Atwell Art Centre & Gallery
Lantern-making workshops will be held during the day, culminating in an illuminating send off for the trucks as well music/art therapy workshops and a Giant Guitar-making community art project

The Chin Wagon (mobile recording studio)
Record your story – My 5 minutes with AC/DC – and we will post it on the Barefaced Stories portal with the chance to be heard on ABC, hosted by Andrea Gibbs

Tompkins on Swan
Tompkins on Swan is your one-stop shop for food and beverages during Highway to Hell. Bring the family and enjoy a sausage sizzle and a drink in the licensed area. Open from 2.00pm with a fully-licensed bar and kicking on with live music until 10.00pm with the Tompkins on Swan Highway to Hell afterparty

Fremantle Dockers
Families, come and join the Fremantle Dockers in Perth Festivals’ Highway to Hell. Get down for some inflatable fun and much more as all Fremantle members and fans celebrate our connection to iconic Aussie band AC/DC by joining together for a mass choir rendition of TNT. We will also need the Purple Army’s help as we attempt to break the world record for the largest air guitar ensemble!

VALLEY ZONE

High Voltage Performance Poets
Emceed by Allan Boyd aka the Antipoet, come hear a line-up of Perth’s best slam poets perform high-energy AC/DC inspired works on the highway.

Melville Sporting Association
Be Thunderstruck by what’s on offer at the MSA – free family-friendly games and activities, a full bar, live music, sausage sizzle, big screen TV. Kids can Play Ball while you enjoy a drink and wait for the truck parade to roll by. Doors open at 2.00pm. Free entry and parking on site.

Dirty Feeds with Sunshine Harvester & Hawaiian!
Enjoy an epic array of street food popups from The Sunshine Harvester and Hawaiian’s Melville. Featuring Baby Roy’s Burgers, Dingo Dining, Ray’s Satay, Al Pastor Mexican, Batter Up Taiyaki + heaps more! With prime viewing for the Valley zone make sure you get down early to grab your spot before the trucks roll in.

Bicton Central Shopping Centre
Be spoilt for choice at Bicton Central, where food stall pop-ups by Fresh Provisions, Puck Espresso, Posh Pizza, Mikado Japanese, Princi Butchers, Burgers with Attitude, Picobello Patisserie and Baker’s Batch will make sure you do not go hungry during Highway to Hell. Grab a feed and enjoy the show with the entire car park free for revellers to take up position.

Guru Dudu's Silent Disco Tours
Welcome into a magical world of silent disco walking tours! It’s a private audioscape that we all share – except for those watching on. Pop on a pair of headphones (supplied) and listen to your favorite rock and roll legends, plus the fun commentary from the tour guide.

Kadampa Meditation Centre
From Highway to Hell to Highway to Enlightenment: drop into Kadampa Meditation Centre Perth for short guided meditations, children’s activities, chanted prayers for world peace and refreshments made with love. Open from 2.00pm – 8.00pm

Riverside at The Left Bank
Head to Riverside at The Left Bank to embark on a full day of family friendly festivities, including a grassed picnic area with food trucks, entertainment from local bands, a show by the talented students at ‘School of Rock’ plus a massive concert by Live Wire to ‘rock on’ into the evening!

Tradewinds
Back in Black Rooftop Party from 4.00pm – 9:30pm.

East Fremantle Town Hall
Grab a bean bag or chair under the umbrellas to watch the festivities in the Rainbow Zone, with a sausage sizzle and coffee van onsite!

  • The Embroiderers’ Guild of Western Australia has a life-size game of “cup and ball”, the Spartans band playing their own music and their version of AC/DC music, and a rest and refreshment station at their premises at 565 Canning highway, Alfred Cove.

  • Cycling Without Age is offering free rides on the Highway to Hell for people who are not mobile. Pre-book on 0448 447 223 or email admin@cyclingwithoutage.org.au  or look for us along the Highway, in the Canning Bridge and Rainbow Zones  or at Health@520, 520 Canning Highway.

  • Bon Scott Memorial at Fremantle Cemetery. Each year thousands of visitors from around the world make the pilgrimage to Fremantle Cemetery to visit Bon Scott’s final resting place; it is said to be the most visited memorial in Australia. Officially classified by the National Trust, the memorial has its own entry off Carrington Street, unofficially referred to as ‘Bon’s Gate’. Those wishing to visit the memorial as part of the Highway to Hell event are welcome to do so, but please remember that Fremantle Cemetery is a working cemetery and there are many other families with loved ones commemorated nearby.

Clancy's Fish Pub Fremantle
Home Ground Dave Warner from the Suburbs. The legendary West Australian punk, poet and author plays a free entry show to wind up Highway to Hell. With a set influenced by his home town and his beloved ‘Old Easts’ Footy Club. W/ DJ supports. From 7.30pm

Stick around for the Raffles after party with a massive line up including The Australian AC/DC Experience, Legs Electric and more.

Leopold Hotel
To finish the day in the most rockin' way, Perth's longest serving AC/DC cover band Hells Bells will be hosting an after-party at the Leopold Hotel from 9pm 'til late with FREE ENTRY! Featuring a stellar line up of special guests and close friends, including guitar prodigy Jayden Tatasciore and the girls from Ballbreaker Perth. Hells Bells will deliver blistering covers of Bon Scott classics.

Mojo’s Bar
The Mojo’s Bar Highway To Hell afterparty, featuring the Southern River Band, DJ Bee Rizzi, DJ Billy Black. Tix $20+BF and $25 at the door from 7PM-midnight.

Metropolis, Fremantle
Head down to Metropolis, Fremantle for a rockin' afterparty. Featuring DJ DTuck playing non-stop AC/DC and other rock classics, rare AC/DC video footage and more on the big screens. Free Entry all night for ALL Acca Dacca fans – 9pm 'til very late.

Newport Hotel
Newpy Front Bar – Newport Hotel, Fremantle. Free Entry all night for all Acca Dacca fans plus live music on the front bar stage, rare AC/DC video footage and more on the big Newport, Fremantle screens. 

Ronnie Nights
You’ve heard the Hells Bells swing now it’s your time to get on the mic and sing. Come down to Ronnie Nights and shake the AC/DC karaoke all night long.  

The Naval Store 
Party in the iconic octopus warehouse at the end of Highway to Hell, right next to the Rainbow stage. This new event space is open to the public for the first time since 1935. From 3PM until late.

Grill’d Applecross
Music lovers, jump on the Rock and Roll Train as we turn up the grill on the Highway to Hell! We invite you to join us at Grill’d Applecross as we shout Let there be Rock!  Get Thunderstruck by our High Voltage and Baby Bon Scott slushies, get hands on with our Heatseekers Acadaca Event Burger and be ready to Shoot to Thrill with our pop-up rock shop. Remember Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be!
