We're taking you through some of the most awe-inspiring works from this incredible company before they hit Perth Festival 2020 with their brand new show, Leviathan!

HUMANS

“Courageous, ground-breaking, risk-taking – these are artist/athletes of the highest order.” Artshub

A stirring journey of what it means to be human and how our bodies, our connections and our aspirations form part of who we are.

Humans explored the physical limits of their bodies as they are pushed to the extreme. How much weight can we carry? Who can we trust to support our load? They lead us to reflect on our lives, our loved ones, the burdens we carry and the physical and emotional strength it takes to overcome them.

CIRCA'S PEEPSHOW

“. . . one of the most entertaining, unbelievable things you will ever see.” The Reviews Hub, UK

Circa’s Peepshow turned cabaret on its head - literally.

A seductive dance through the hall of mirrors that is your imagination, this show lurched from the thrillingly acrobatic to the comically playful. Teetering towers of balanced bodies, extreme bending and devilishly precarious aerials made for an astounding visual extravaganza.

WOLFGANG'S MAGICAL MUSICAL CIRCUS

“. . . manic and magical” The Guardian, UK

Straight from the score and onto the stage, the man known as Mozart appeared amid a storm of powder, tumbling and twirling, as musical mayhem and movement fused in this family show with a circus twist.

EN MASSE BY CIRCA

“Stratospheric skill . . . [Circa] has never looked better” The Australian

A wild, tender and savage ride, En Masse presented two visions of humanity at its extremes through circus settings of Schubert’s Winter’s Journey and selections from Swan Song as well as Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.

IL RITORNO

Il Ritorno by Circa (Teaser) from Circa Contemporary Circus on Vimeo.

“… a powerful vision of humanity and compassion.” The Australian

A powerful physical poem of absence and separation. Against a stark black wall, acrobats strived to connect with each other, while music from Monteverdi’s opera Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria was played and sung by a live chamber ensemble.
