Associate Producer Connect

You could produce our programs for WA artists and arts workers

We are looking for an Associate Producer – Connect to join the Perth Festival. This is a seasonal position that commences in September 2024 on a part time basis (0.6FTE) and concludes in late March 2025. The position increases to full time for January and February 2025.  The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and goal-oriented leader who is keen to make a contribution to the future success of the Perth Festival!

About the role

Reporting to the Engagement Manager, the Associate Producer – Connect will work in close collaboration with the Programming department to conceive, coordinate, and deliver the Connect Program. The Connect program provides range of free opportunities for WA artists and arts workers to network, share knowledge, build skills, push practice, foster relationships and help make the WA arts industry stronger and better connected. Part of this program includes providing opportunity and forums for emerging arts practitioners to engage with the Festival program by establishing critical conversations and networking opportunities for producers and self-producing artists.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Maintain and deliver the Connect sector development program including but not limited to Festival Lab, Producer Forum, workshops and masterclasses.
  • Collaborate with the Program department to research, develop and deliver new bespoke programs responding to needs specific to the artistic program.
  • Maintain existing relationships and develop new ones with the WA arts and cultural sector, identifying potential for co-presentation and collaboration.
  • Investigate possibilities for engagement with artists from the Indian Ocean Rim, building on our strategic aims to deepen relationships within this region.
  • Working with the Engagement Manager, identify ways of engaging with diverse artists and broadening the reach of the Connect program generally.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the education sector in Western Australia, specifically within an arts context.
  • Experience producing a range of projects and productions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational and budget management skills with an ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines in an arts environment.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and / or people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
