We love local music. And we love to get the party started early.
This year Chevron Gardens comes alive with an array of fresh sounds on the free access Gardens Stage nightly from 6pm. The majority of artists hail from these very shores, with a handful of acts coming to you live from across the Indian Ocean. We’re tickling your ears with a diverse range of genres and we guarantee you will make some exciting discoveries.
Head down to Chevron Gardens as the sun starts to dip into the ocean, and we’ll shower you with live bands and DJs with a knack for summer lovin’ good times.

When they aren’t busy touring the world as a killer seven-piece jazz/hip hop force, Koi Child can be found spinning a wide range of tunes from eclectic world, hip hop, jazz, house and dance influences. Let’s kickstart a season of Chevron Gardens bangers in style.

It’s a Block Party take over! The Block Party crew take over all stages at Chevron Gardens, rolling out the dance floor jams all evening. With a penchant for fun and frivolity, we’re looking forward to a Saturday night of sweet jams.

HARRY JAKAMARRA

Broome singer-songwriter Harry Jakamarra exudes desert blues, old time Appalachian stomp and grungy rock stirred with a banjo. With a gravelly vocal and a knack for storytelling, Jakamarra’s skill on any stringed instrument is a sight to behold. With his brothers in tow, he promises a Sunday arvo shakedown.

The M.O.V.E Foundation for Musical Health & Well-being is Perth’s preeminent authority on getting down, promoting a rigorous program of better living through free body movement and the spiritual power of music. She’s been dubbed WA’s Lucinda Williams and there’s no denying Carla Geneve’s robust vocals and deft songwriting are worthy of such lofty comparisons. Geneve’s music is shaped by her experiences as a south-west teenager, and local industry and music fans alike are touting her as the best talent to come from Albany in decades.

RICKY DEAN & THE DREAM MACHINE

Best remembered for his rock ’n’ roll antics and cracking songwriting as the frontman of Red Engine Caves, Ricky Dean returns with his Dream Machine touting journey man music with hints of the Rolling Stones, Beatles and all fine melodic masters. As catchy as they are sweet, Ricky Dean’s ditties are truly delightful.

BOAT SHOW + DJ RUSS DEWBURY

Renowned for high energy pop-punk frivolity, Boat Show is led by songstress and stuntwoman extraordinaire, Ali Flintoff. As wild as they are beguiling, these firecrackers set the stage for a rollicking good night. UK funk ’n’ soul spinner, Russ Dewbury, will keep the boogie classics rolling with flair.

KILTIR

A family band who live to spread the tradition of maloya, an hypnotic island beat, Kiltir is an exceptional combination of dance, musical prowess and infectious energy. The name Kiltir means ‘culture’ in Creole and this family group has practised this form since childhood. Mesmerising in their artistry, Kiltir will engage the crowd instantly.

LEOPARD LAKE

A collaboration between Perth producer Sam Ford (Pond, Abbe May) and vocalist Storm Wyness, Leopard Lake is a duo of dark, atmospheric electro-pop. Built on explosive and hazy production spliced with guitar, it is Wyness’ spine-tingling vocal that drives this unique pairing.

WOMPP SHOWCASE

Founded by award-winning producers Elise Reitze and Rosie Taylor, who make up Feels, WOMMP is a community for female, transgender and non-binary Ableton users to share and develop their music production skills. We celebrate these wicked electro wizards with an evening of live sets and DJ mash-ups curated and headlined by Feels.

There’s a sweet spot between rollicking folk melodies and punk-infused blues and The Tommyhawks have found it. This fierce femme-fatale foursome explodes with quirky, blues-fuelled songs combining dark sax harmonies, homemade electric mandolin and howling vocals.

A soulful trailblazer reigniting contemporary Kenyan sounds, Maia adds a new colour to the musical landscape, blending soul, jazz and folk sprinkled with Swahili spice. One of Perth’s best-loved folk ’n’ roll troubadours, Timothy Nelson and his interstellar ginger afro are synonymous with melodic wonder and soul-stirring ditties. An evening in the company of Nelson’s songwriting splendour is guaranteed to warm the cockles.
