Inside Landscapes is an expedition through deserts and savannah rock and red dunes, under a canopy of blue sky, chink of rock, screech of corellas, silence. An exploration of the internal landscape observations and echoes, ripples and reaction, the reflections within.

Travel through inland Western Australia in original words, images and music with Stephen Scourfield (travel editor, novelist, poet, photographer and spoken word performer) and Steve Richter (percussionist, composer, producer and educator).

Stephen Scourfield

Stephen might be best known for his travel writing, but he draws on his experience as an award-winning novelist and spoken word performer for this scripted evening. Stephen is Travel Editor of The West Australian and The Sunday Times, and, eTravel Digital Edition and The Pod Well Travelled podcast. His last three, Still The Best Job in the World, Isolation and Don’t Forget to Write, follow travel and bigger themes. One of his novels, Other Country, won the WA Premier’s Award for Fiction. It was followed by As the River Runs, also set in the Kimberley, and there is a collection of three novellas, Unaccountable Hours. His writing work has been the subject of choreography and he took part in 13 performances by Ochre Contemporary Dance Company. He performed his work Beautiful Witness, with dancer Floeur Alder, as part of Perth Fringe Festival. He has also performed with Will Yeoman at previous Perth Festival Writers Weeks, York Writers Festival and in Broome.
