GARBAGE is back at Perth Festival for a full Rechabite takeover now featuring SKIN ON SKIN and Umfang plus  NESTFM Rooftop and ALT NOIZE in the Basement!

Formed in 2014 by multi-disciplinary artist and designer Kiel Rogers, GARBAGE events are about being free and celebrating who you want to be. It all started in Melbourne at one of the most renowned underground queer clubs in Australia, XOXO, then returned to Perth where parties were held in illegal warehouses and carparks. These days, you can find GARBAGE within spaces tailored to the best artists of the underground electronic scenes from around the world.

And for Perth Festival, that means at The Rechabite Hall, Goodwill Club and Hello Rooftop for one huge dance party.

Unfortunately due to a serious injury CEM is requiring immediate surgery and has had to cancel his Australian tour due to begin this weekend. Fortunately post his huge Laneway Festival run we’ve been able to ask SKIN ON SKIN to step in and takeover headline duties!

Joining is the one and only Umfang in her Boorloo/Perth debut. Born in New York City, raised in the Mid-West and now a staple of Brooklyn’s underground electronic scene, Umfang’s amorphous polyrhythmic techno productions have been felt everywhere from Ninja Tune to Dekmantel. The co-founder of the Discowoman collective and monthly resident of Brooklyn’s Techno feminism concept since 2012, Umfang consistently enjoys playing with people’s expectations of how a techno set can be defined.

Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any special needs or any questions.

GARBAGEtv is and has always been fun, friendly, and energising. We sincerely hope that everybody who attends feels the ability to enjoy themselves freely, without judgment or inhibition.

This means showing respect and appreciation for all of our peers and fellow event-goers, especially those part of marginalised groups in society.

Communities such as LGBTQ+ and BIPOC have long struggled to find spaces that feel safe, comfortable, and equal - Which some may take for granted.

We believe it is the moral responsibility of all attendees of GARBAGEtv to uphold these values to ensure a welcoming space for all.

DJ’s, bar staff, Management and Security will also be in place to help things run smoothly - threatening, aggressive, predatory, or discriminatory behaviour will not be welcome.
