Join the award-winning author of Jasper Jones as he talks about his latest novel, Honeybee, a heart-wrenching coming-of-age tale about a young person who just wants to be seen. Rendered in the most poignant detail, this book is a sweetly nostalgic and relatable tale about growing up and getting wise.

You will require a working device with internet access to view the Live Broadcast.  If you have a smart TV, you can mirror/cast from iPads and smartphones. 

Please note that Perth Festival cannot issue refunds for problems related to your internet connection.

What events can I stream?

Selected events can be live streamed from your home. To find these events please see our Watch At Home category. 

How do I watch the event? 

First purchase your watch at home ticket from our website.

You will then be sent an order confirmation email followed by an email titled 'Your ticket to XXX | Watch at Home' with an access code and a link to watch the event. To watch the event, click the 'Watch Now' button. 

Please note the email containing the access code can take up to 30min to arrive in your inbox. Please check you junk, updates, promotions folders. 

How long do I have to watch the event? 

The video link will be active for two weeks from the date of the event. You can either watch it live as the event is happening, or watch the event after it has taken place. 

During a film’s viewing window, you will be able to rewind, forward through, pause or exit and restart the film. Please note that undertaking any of these actions will not extend the viewing window.

How many devices can I watch the event on? 

One ticket = one activation code. This code can only be used on one device. 

If you purchase two tickets you will receive two unique activation codes. These must be used on seperate devices. 

Will any of the events sell out or are tickets unlimited?

Tickets are generous for the Watch at Home events but not unlimited. If you don't want to miss out we recommend buying as soon as possible. 

What is the ticket price?

All of our Literature & Ideas events are Pay What You Can. Our suggested price is $19 but you can choose to pay any amount you’d like – from $0. Any amount you pay above $19 will be used to ensure that other people are able to attend Festival events where cost is normally a barrier.

Can I use a Perth Festival gift voucher to purchase tickets?

Yes, you can.

Craig Silvey
Craig Silvey is an author and screenwriter from Fremantle, Western Australia.

His critically acclaimed debut novel, Rhubarb, was published in 2004. His bestselling second novel, Jasper Jones, was released in 2009 and is considered a modern Australian classic. Published in over a dozen territories, Jasper Jones has won plaudits in three continents, including an International Dublin Literary Award shortlisting, a Michael J. Printz Award Honor and a Miles Franklin Literary Award shortlisting. Jasper Jones was the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for 2010. The stage adaptation of Jasper Jones was produced by no less than five different companies, who all performed separate sell-out productions, the Barking Gecko Theatre, Belvoir, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre Company and the State Theatre Company of South Australia.

Honeybee is Craig’s third novel.
