‘This is the movie you've been waiting for. Don't miss it. Just go.’

The Sydney Morning Herald

‘A blistering drama, intense, disturbing and inescapably thought-provoking … a knock out.’

LA Times

Inspired by true events, Academy Award-nominated Corpus Christi is a remarkable tale of morality and redemption.

While in youth detention 20-year-old Daniel finds God, but being an ex-con he can’t become a priest. Instead, on his release, he fools an entire Polish village by falsely posing as a magnetic young preacher. It’s a seemingly God-given opportunity for transformation, and Daniel – whilst wholly unconventional in his approach – takes to the pulpit with fervour and compassion. But not everyone is open to his approach, and Daniel learns the hard way that following the road to salvation can also lead you astray.

Astutely navigating ideas of faith, virtue and forgiveness, Jan Komasa’s disciplined and unflinching direction is enhanced by the simply jaw-dropping lead performance from young star Bartosz Bielenia. A surprising and wholly distinctive drama, Corpus Christi examines both spiritual devotion and religious hypocrisy and challenges you to think about redemption.
