- The Telegraph (The Staves)
‘All shades of heartbreak ... latticing guitars, gently droning synths and cut-glass vocals.’
The Staves are a folk-rock trio of sisters who blend the wistful cadences of classic British folk with breezy 70s Americana. Some tracks are tender tales held by delicate melodies, backed by a whisper of guitar, while others climb to blazing solos. One thing is certain – these harmonies are breathtaking.
Joining the UK trio are five-piece Brooklyn favourites Lucius. With an evocative mix of torchy, pedal-steel infused, indie folk-pop, Lucius is led by two strikingly kooky frontwomen who mirror each other from haircuts to costumes. Belting out explosively rich harmonies, they perfectly capture life’s agonising lows and triumphant highs.
United for this double bill we present an evening of sparkling eclecticism in harmony.
