In the lead up to our Literature & Ideas Weekend we’re bringing a series of thought-provoking, captivating and thoroughly entertaining discussions to Fremantle.

The classic family feature film H is for Happiness is based on the award-winning young adult novel, My Life As An Alphabet

Join Darwin-based author Barry Jonsberg as he discusses the differences between the novel and the film and his experiences on location in Albany.

Barry Jonsberg is an award-winning Australian author based in Darwin. He has won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award, the Queensland Premier's Young Adult Book Award, the Gold Inky Award, the Children's Peace Literature Award, the Indie Book Award and the Adelaide Festival Award for Children's Literature, amongst others. His latest work is the 2018 novel A Song Only I Can Hear. His 2013 novel My Life as an Alphabet has just been adapted into a new Australian film called H is for Happiness.
