Perth Festival Young Creatives
Young Creatives is a unique development program that provides aspiring arts professionals aged 15 – 18 with opportunities to explore a career in the arts. Participating in a program curated to their areas of interest, Young Creatives connect with artists, performers and practitioners from the across Perth Festival program. The program aims to nurture Young Creatives in a unique learning environment, exposing them to diverse opportunities to explore, learn, create and engage.
We are seeking passionate Young Creatives with interests in photography, music, visual arts, performance, literature or film who are keen to contribute to culture and the arts in Western Australia to join us for Perth Festival 2018. For more information and your chance to get involved register online below. Applications close 1 December 2017.
Who should apply?
Young Creatives includes generalist and photography streams.
The generalist program is created in response to successful applicants’ areas of interest and we are inviting high school students aged 15 to 18 with an interest in music, visual arts, performance, film or the arts in general to submit an application that outlines their interest in the arts. The program is intended as an opportunity to explore and think critically about the arts, providing context and knowledge to young people keen to make a career in this area.
The photography program is a mentorship opportunity. Student photographers will work with professional mentors to develop their skills in photography, creating content that will be celebrated through Perth Festival media channels.
*Please note: Young Creatives is not a masterclass program. If you are a violinist looking to hone your classical French repertoire, or a dancer wanting to work en pointe, Young Creatives is probably not the program for you.
