Producing Basics

Perth Festival has run the Producer Forum for several years; a chance for producers and self-producing artists to gather with national and international arts workers and discuss how works ended up here. But what if you’re just starting out? Producing Basics is a full-day immersion for those at the very beginning of an arts-administration journey.

The day will comprise a series of introductory talks and workshops on the basics of project management for performance; co-operative agreements, budgeting, grant writing, and a chance to meet fellow aspiring arts-administrators. Sessions will be run by Producers and Administrators from organisations around Perth.

This is an introductory workshop and is therefore best suited to artists or arts workers with some knowledge of the theatre and/or dance performance arts sectors, but without significant project producing experience under their belt. You may have produced a FRINGE WORLD show, or self-produced your own work, or you may simply be interested in learning more. Please note, you do not need to be under 26 to apply to this program, but you do need to be at the beginning of your arts administration career.

This workshop is free to attend, however places are limited.
