Josie Boyle

Bio

Josie Wowolla Boyle is a Wonghi woman from WA. She is an acclaimed storyteller, singer and visual artist who for many years has entertained people with stories from her Wongutha heritage. She is the author of several children’s books published by Magabala Books including Bubbay: A Christmas Adventure and The Spotty Dotty Lady (both illustrated by Fern Martins), and Mrs White and the Red Desert (illustrated by Maggie Prewett). In 2017, Boyle’s Creation story, ‘How Languages Came to Be’ opened the annual NAIDOC Week celebrations at the Goldfields Arts Centre and featured life-sized puppets designed, built and manipulated by Kalgoorlie-Boulder youth.
