Curatorial Assistant: Literature and Ideas 2020

Perth Festival is seeking a lover of literature to support with producing a series of events for the 2020 Literature and Ideas Program.

We are an annually curated multi-genre arts festival in Perth, WA that showcases the very best of national and international film, theatre, circus, dance, literature and music. The Lotterywest Film season runs from November to April and the Perth Festival runs across February and March, but we are busy all year planning and preparing for delivery. Our team expands from a core team of 27 to over 200 at the peak of Festival – creating a unique, fast paced and ever-changing working environment.


The role of Curatorial Assistant is a casual, fixed-term position, commencing in November 2019 and concluding in February 2020. This role will work closely with the Producer and the Curator: Literature and Ideas and would be best suited to someone that intellectually engages with arts and politics and is passionate about literature.

  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team on social media research and blogs
  • Supporting the Literature and Ideas team with interviewing authors, moderators and key arts sector leaders
  • Conducting archival research
  • Supporting with planning community outreach activities and engagement opportunities
