The Perth International Arts Festival relies on attracting the very best staff and artists from around the world each year.
We employ more than 100 staff and contract even more individual artists and companies annually. Our staff members may be permanent or may be employed on a part-time, casual or contract basis. We regularly support work experience, secondment and volunteer work opportunities. Our artists and artistic companies may be contracted for a single event, a season, a programme, or they may even be commissioned to produce new work for presentation at the Festival.

GRAPHIC ARTIST
(Short term contract)
The Perth International Arts Festival is seeking an experienced and diligent individual to assist in providing high quality design and production services for the 2011 Perth Festival.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manage production of all promotional materials for the Festival whilst adhering to our Brand Style guide developed by an external agency. Promotional materials include Festival brochure pages, Lotterywest Festival Film brochure, Perth Writers Festival brochure, advertisements, branding and visibility design, and other marketing collateral as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years finished artwork experience
- Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design
The successful applicant will:
- Be a qualified graphic artist with a minimum of three years experience as a Mac Operator in print advertising industry, design house or an agency, extensive experience in Adobe Creative Suite,
- Have knowledge of pre press processes,
- The ability to meet tight deadlines whilst working under pressure,
- Have enthusiasm and
- Some knowledge of the performing arts industry.
- Salary: from $53,265 pro rata p.a. plus superannuation
- Appointment mid September 2010 to late March 2011, dates to be confirmed.

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
(Maternity Cover, part-time 0.5 appointment)
The Perth International Arts Festival is seeking to appoint an energetic, well organised and a highly computer literate person who is keen to work in a dynamic arts environment while contributing to the success of Western Australia’s premier arts and cultural event.
The successful applicant will have
- A minimum of five year's experience in a similar role including extensive experience in the development, management and implementation of policies, systems and procedures in:
- Human Resource Management
- Office Management – including managing budgets, contracts and health and safety issues
- Event Ticketing
- Information Technology - Strong organisational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- A high level of initiative.
- An ability to work under pressure.
- An ability to influence and manage change.
This position requires a sound working knowledge of computer network systems, database applications and Microsoft Office Suite
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a job share position in a challenging and diverse role.
- Salary: $87,023 pro rata p.a. plus superannuation
- Appointment one year part time 0.5 contract (Maternity Cover).

PROGRAM MANAGER :: PERTH WRITERS FESTIVAL
(Maternity Cover)
Perth International Arts Festival is seeking a Program Manager for the Perth Writers Festival. In consultation with the Artistic Director, the successful applicant will research, implement and manage the delivery of the annual Perth Writers Festival program which consists of a series of literary events and workshops, a Family Day and Schools Program.
The successful applicant will have:
- An extensive knowledge of and contacts in publishing and literature in Australia and overseas.
- Demonstrated ability to manage partners and negotiate contracts with artists, agents and publishers.
- A proven record of planning and implementing a program of activities in a complex environment.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of event management, production requirements, venue management and logistics.
This position requires a high level of computer literacy, a current driver’s license. A tertiary education in literature or the arts would be advantageous.
- Salary: $67,165 p.a. plus superannuation
- Appointment 14 month contract (Maternity Cover) commencing mid October 2010
