My Name is Raj is a participatory installation that honours the work of Bollywood cinema pioneer, Raj Kapoor, who often cast himself in his films.
Srinivas Krishna sets the scene with an exhibition of photographs and films and invites you to become part of the art as well. Enter his photo studio where your portrait is taken in the guise of the starring characters and inserted into Kapoor’s cinematic worlds. Originally commissioned by Luminato and Toronto International Film Festival.
The installation invites viewers not just to watch clips from Mr Kapoor’s canon but to Photoshop their own faces directly into his film world. THE GLOBE AND MAIL
