ART:CITY KEYNOTE ADDRESS
ART:CITY | WESFARMERS
Architect Noel Lane takes us through a revealing illustrated talk centred on a remarkable artistic vision and sculptural triumph: the creation of The Gibb's Farm. Once a remote tract of farm land in New Zealand, this spectacularly scenic space has been transformed into an internationally talked about sculpture park.
The Farm boasts site-specific art by elite global artists, including massive scale works by Richard Serra, Andy Goldsworthy, Neil Dawson, Sol LeWitt, Daniel Buren and Anish Kapoor.
As a director of The Farm, Lane has been intimately involved in realising this unparalleled relationship between artists and landscape. He is also celebrated in his own right for architectural works such as the Glass House at the Brick Bay Sculpture Park and the refurbishment of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
Inspiring and enlightening, Noel speaks to all of us, stimulating our minds with the possibilities of art, architecture and environment in harmony.
